Permissions Policy — Cite What You Clip

I sincerely hope you find this site’s content useful or enjoyable, and of course I would be honored if you shared what you find here responsibly.

To that end, you are welcome to link directly to any page or post on this site. You may also quote brief excerpts (up to 100 words) from blog posts or general site pages (such as Cut-Scenes), provided that proper attribution is included.

Unless otherwise noted, content here is shared under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). A visible, legible link back to the original page from which the excerpt was taken (or to nlbryar.page) satisfies such attribution.

Any Sample Chapter or Short Story content is provided solely for reading and sharing through authorized platforms (such as this website or official retailer previews). You are welcome to quote brief excerpts for review, commentary, or discussion, provided they are properly attributed and accompanied by a link back to the source.

Full reproduction or redistribution of sample chapter text in any other form requires my prior written permission.

Comments Policy — Keep a Civil Tongue

I hope you find, here, a like-minded tribe, whether it be of fellow (Urban) Fantasy readers or aspiring 2nd-career writers.

Be a good tribal citizen by remembering this: we’re all given a sprinkling of wisdom and we’re all trying to build more by exchanging ideas. If you have a question or a different point of view, chances are others do, too. Please, leave a comment on the site rather than send an email — shared discussions help everyone learn.

Anthropologists have a theory we all descended from monkeys. Let’s not allow them to so easily prove their point just by pointing at rude, hateful comments on a fiction author’s blog. It is okay to disagree with others (even with me — sigh), but you must do so respectfully. Leave vitriol and intolerance to our political ‘leaders’.

I reserve the right to delete comments at my discretion. The First Amendment protects what you say on your blog, not on mine. Comments may be removed if they are:

  • Defamatory, hateful, libelous, or licentious
  • Threatening or illegal
  • Damaging to the sense of tribe (snarky, name-calling, insulting)
  • Promotional or self-serving (e.g. no hawking your miracle skin-cream on an article about vampire-tropes).

This list is not exhaustive — just remember, act better than monkeys and you’ll be fine.

You bear ownership responsibility for your words. They are yours, not mine. I am relieved of any and all liability for them.

By posting a comment, you grant me a perpetual, royalty-free license to display it publicly in connection with this site.
